A Bright Friday Morning

Today is another “woke-up with a song in my head day”, and today’s is

“Making Friends”, by Elton John & Bernie Taupin. “Making friends for the world to see…” I’m guessing it was prompted by a long phone conversation last evening with my friend, Mike Semrad. Mike and I went to school and college together and have known each other since we were, perhaps, 4 years old, nearly 60 years now. No doubt he’s my longest-term friend.

Today promises to be a warm, sunny day. I have to get Barbara’s Toyota serviced today and a woman is coming to get the moving boxes I offered to give away free on Freecycle. Next Monday Barbara has a doctor’s appointment in the Nashville area, so we hope the weather is good for that trip. Nashville is our closest metropolitan area. It is quite easy to get there: just a straight trip down I-65 and no traffic to speak of unless you get right down into the downtown area. Even the Nashville airport – the closest hub to us – is only about 75 miles away.

Well, my coffee should be done, so perhaps I’ll write more later today. May you and yours do well today, “for friends are found on every road”
